Although we cannot offer on-site programs at the moment, you can still enjoy fun and exciting programs about animals and the zoo! Capron Park Zoo offers both free, paid and mixed virtual programming for kids, classrooms and adults.

Books and Beasts

Join us VIA Zoom for a story! These 20 minute programs are offered every other month and are FREE to enjoy. Kids will hear a story and then “visit” with a zoo resident. Pre-registration is required, but there is NO FEE to attend. See the schedule of dates and follow the included links for registration.

Kids Zoocademy

Kids Zoocademy programs are for children ages 7-12 to learn about a variety of animal and zoo related topics VIA Zoom. Sessions are 30 minutes long and are featured every other month. Pre-registration is required. Use the link below to register!

JANUARY 9: ANIMALS IN WINTER: Ever wonder how animal manage during the coldest months of the year? This program will look at not only how wild animals survive the cold and dark months, but how our zoo animals adjust to the snow and ice as well!

MARCH 13: DIETS AND NUTRITION: A large part of keeping animal happy and healthy is feeding them properly. Take a look at what is takes to keep the zoo’s 75 residents feed each and every day!

MAY 15: ENDANGERED SPECIES AND CONSERVATION: May 21st is Endangered Species Day, so this program will take a look at some of the endangered species that live at Capron Park Zoo and what is being done to try and save them.

Winter Vacation “Camp in a Box”: February 16-19, 2021

During vacation week your kids can still enjoy Winter Zoocademy from the comfort and safety of home… or wherever they are! These new “mixed” programs will feature a box you can pick up (or have mailed for an extra fee) with activities and fun lessons centered around a different topic each day, and will give times to tune in to FaceBook for LIVE sessions. Capron Park Zoo Members: $15/box, $50 for all 4 boxes

Virtual Guided Tours

Virtual Guided Tours are Zoom sessions that will take you around the zoo while focusing on a specific education topic. Perfect for groups (especially classrooms and birthday parties), these tours are priced to be accessible for any group!

Tours are between 30-45 minutes long and include and Q&A session

~Up to 30 screens (perfect for single classrooms, offices or small groups): $50
~Up to 60 screens (perfect for multiple classrooms, offices or medium size groups): $100
~Up to 100 screens (perfect for entire grades, large offices/conference and/or large groups): $150

PHOTO SAFARIS: these early morning programs are designed to allow amateur and yes, even professional photographers to enter the zoo before hours to snap the perfect picture! Although sessions are an hour long, your fee includes admission to the zoo for the entire day. Photo safari session run rain or shine
