Eastern Redbud
Eastern Redbud are smallish, spring blooming trees. Although they do not produce fruit that is edible to humans, they are very important food sources for several bee species, including blueberry bees and carpernter bees. Without these bee species, many other fruit crop trees and plants would not be pollinated. This makes Redbuds ECOSYSTEM SUPERHEROES, even though they aren’t an animal.
Pollinators like bees, butteflies and bats are VERY important to the human survival. So help a superhero out; plant a REDBUD tree in your yard!
“If all mankind were to disappeat, the world would regenerate back to the rich state of equilibrium that existed 10,000 years ago, If insects were to vanish , the environment would collapse into chaos”
~E.O Wilson
