Children who love animals will love a birthday party at Capron Park Zoo! Zoo parties are safe, educational and above all else fun! Animal encounters and a zoo visit make for an exciting party that will have the whole herd roaring with excitement!
You supply the guests, we supply the rest!

Birthday Party Programs
Snow Leopard Package
This 2-hour party package includes:
- An educational program led by a staff member that includes close-up encounters with 3 live animal ambassadors;
- Admission to the Zoo for up to 25* people;
- Use of the zoo's party room;
- Your choice of either vanilla, chocolate, or marble cake:
- An ice cream cup for each child;
- Your choice of juice or soda;
- A goody bag for each child.
Cost: $225.00
Zoo Members: $200.00
* You are responsible for supervising your entire party.
This party package is available all year long
Sloth Bear Package
This 2 1/2-hour party package includes:
- An educational program led by a staff member that includes close-up encounters with 3 live animal ambassadors;
- Admission to the Zoo for up to 25* people;
- Use of the zoo's party room;
- Food and drinks**; (Nov-Mar: pizza/ Apr-Oct: hot dogs and/or corn dogs);
- Your choice of either vanilla, chocolate, or marble cake;
- An ice cream cup for each child;
- A goody bag for each child.
Cost: $275.00
Zoo Members: $250.00
* You are responsible for supervising your entire party.
This party package is available all year long.
** November through March: pizza
April through October: corn dogs and/or hot dogs
Kangaroo Package
This 3-hour party package includes:
- An educational program led by a staff member that includes close-up encounters with 3 live animal ambassadors;
- Admission to the Zoo for up to 25* people;
- Use of the zoo's party room;
- Choice of hot dog or corn dog for each guest, plus chips and a drink;
- Your choice of either vanilla, chocolate, or marble cake;
- An ice cream cup for each child;
- Use of our Fun House Moonwalk;
- A goody bag for each child.
Cost: $325.00
Zoo Members: $300.00
* You are responsible for supervising your entire party.
SORRY - we do not run the Kangaroo Party Package from October to April.
In addition to what is listed above, for all parties we will provide tables and chairs and all paper products.

What is the meal provided for the Sloth Bear and Kangaroo parties?
We offer a choice of either hot dogs or corn dogs and a bag of chips during the late spring, summer and early fall. During the winter, the meal is pizza
Can I bring my own lunch for a zoo party?
Outside food and drink are not allowed in the zoo - we do not allow groups to bring in lunches, have meals catered or have food delivered to the zoo.The only exception applies to those with food allergies or dietary restrictions. In these cases, we allow the person with the allergy/restriction to bring in a substitute meal for themselves.
Can I bring in snacks or extra drinks for adults?
We understand that you may wish to provide bottled water or soda, chips, cheese and crackers or a veggie platter for adults. You may bring in small amounts of snacks like those listed for adults, but these items are confined to the classroom.
What kind of cake and ice cream comes with the birthday party? Can I bring my own if I want?
We offer a Hoodsie-type ice cream cup for each child. Our cakes come from Zaccagnini's Pastry Shoppe in Seekonk. The cakes are single layer, 1/4 sheet cakes. If you want to bring in a specially made cake, or you would like to bring extra, you are welcome, however, we do not offer a price cut for bringing your own cake/ice cream.
What are the times for birthday parties?
We offer 2 time slots/day: 10 AM and 1 PM
What is in the 'goody bags'?
The items in the goody bags sometimes changes, depending on what is available. Typically they contain items such as coloring books, crayons, stickers, temporary tattoos, bubbles and animal cards. All goody bags will contain basically the same items.
Does the 25-person limit apply to both adults and children?
Yes-25 guests means ALL the people you have coming to the party including all children and adults, and for safety reasons, we will enforce this limit. If you have additional unplanned guests show up, you will be charged and additional fee of $10/person
Is there a minimum number of guests required to book a party?
There is no minimum for booking a party.
Does the time limit on the party refer to the time in the party room or in the zoo?
Time limits refer to time in the party room. The cost of your party includes admission to the zoo for up to 25 guests and you are welcome to enjoy the zoo even after your party concludes.
What is the 'education program' included with the party?
Every party program includes a brief, educational encounter with 3 animal ambassadors of the birthday child's choice. All our animal ambassadors are small, easily handled animals such as snakes, hedgehogs, lizards and ferrets that are used to being around children.When you book a program with us, we will send you a contract that has the complete list of ambassadors available for program use. The education program lasts between 20 and 30 minutes.
How do go about booking a party?
Please call the Education Department at: 774-203-1844 or send an email to book a party. We recommend that you call to book your party AT LEAST 3 months in advance. Once a program is booked, you will receive a contract and booking letter from the zoo. You are required to return that contract along with a $75 deposit a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your scheduled date. The $75 deposit is non-refundable unless the zoo must cancel the party due to unsafe conditions.
When is the final payment due?
The balance is due on the day of your party
What happens if it rains?
We hold our parties rain or shine. We suggest that you and your guests dress for whatever weather conditions are predicted. If you book a Kangaroo party and it rains (or other unsafe weather conditions such as high winds or thunderstorms), we will downgrade your party to a Sloth Bear Package and adjust your charges accordingly.
Can I leave the zoo to use the playground or go to my car?
Party guests will have their hands stamped by staff members upon entering the party room. This stamp will allow you to re-enter the zoo as often as you like that day.
